Next update......sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I have definitely discovered that closing the doors to the cabinet make it quit working.  It can be working perfectly, but if I close one of the doors and try it, nothing happens at all.  It's as if the signal is reflecting off of the doors and messing everything up.

martingermany-

I followed your instructions to a "T" and cannot get the Tivo to consistently or correctly respond to the IR repeaters provided with the Tivo box.

I tried 10081a and 10081c and both positions (once twice right in between the Power button and the other, and twice right in front of the IR "eye").

Any help?  I randomly get it to go into "Video On Demand" when using CHAN UP during remote control setup.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for any help in advance!

The Uverse/Motorola box is VERY hard to get the tivo to work with.  It is all in the positioning of the IR repeater.  play with it some more.  Took me over an hour to get it in the proper position (shown here in the forums in another thread).

bcumby,

try holding the IR blaster in different places all around the box, and not just the front.  Look on page two of this thread for the pictures of a place that appeared to work best for that particular TiVo.

If I leave the doors open on that setup it seems to work pretty well for the most part.  This is a 540 series TiVo.

When I finally got around to trying to get the 240 series TiVo to work, I found success MUCH easier.  I have the transmitter pointing right at the IR sensor on the U-Verse box like common sense would tell you to put it.  I have the blaster on the bottom of the box, not the top, and several inches out from the box, but it works great.

So some TiVo models would seem to be easier to get to work than others.

Others in this thread have reported similar situations.
