I have been waiting to get Uverse for a couple of years and with the bonding of pairs I was told that my address was good to go.  My install was scheduled for today and the install tech came to the door and the first thing he said was how many HD TV's do you have.  I knew that could not be good, so I told him that I would like to have a minimum of 2.  He let me know that due to distance my order only had 1 HD stream, but he would check.

So he calls his supervisor, does some checking on the lines, and even has a line technician come out and check everything.  This all happens over a period of 2 hours.  I find out that I am 6610 feet away from the nearest VRAD and that I could still do the 1 HD stream but that is all they would allow on my profile.  He did say that there could be new technology that at some point allows the distance to extend to 10,000 feet.

I am disappointed as I would expect that when they do an address verification that this is something which they check and let me know as part of the order.  Also I am very surprised that I am actually 6610 feet away and still would qualify for anything Uverse even the bonding of pairs.  I was looking forward to the technology, getting rid of DTV, and saving some money on the process.

Hmm. If ur in a newer subdivision u might get lucky soon. It's just hard to expand in neighborhoods that are already built. I leave accross from Heritage Park and it was wired exclusively for Uverse

Haven't heard about 10000', but rumored bump of hd streams in san antonio. add of 1 hd streams. So if u have 1 you'll get 2, 2 get 3, 3 get 4...
Am surprised though, they were even going to allow u to get the service, suppose to max at 5500' w/ pair bonding...
