Any new updates, on when Uverse will be available to customers with FTTC?
Are they still testing it? Any Idea when it may be rolled out?

I had heard in Texas they have UVERSE to FTTC customers, but here in Georgia they had a problem with some of the old BellSouth equipment not being compatible. I had heard they should start rolling it out some time in 2010. I wanted to see if it's still on schedule. Does anyone have additional information on it?  Huh

They have approved the solution but it requires a complete change out of the electronics using another vendor. The only thing reused is the fiber and the FTTN cabinet. All the ONU neighborhood have to be replaced. The hard part is it has to be done while still providing serve except for a short time they disconnect change out the ONU and remake all the connections.  Do not know when or how fast they are planning to convert any area but it should start in the next few months.

The FITL to GPON conversion has been tested on a bigger scale in parts of Miami and some of the details were discussed over on U-Talk. The company has not made an offical or formal announcement as to the convesion of more FITL area; some good news is that the 3 year old plans on pair bonding have finally started to begin in some area. Perhaps the next be technical advance we will hear of is about the various FITL technologies finally being widely changed out for the GPON solution.
