Here are the highlights from this investor conference.
U-verse is in 43 markets and has passed 10 million units.  Market penetration is greater than 14% in markets open more than a year.  This number continue to rise. Still on track for 1 million subscribers by year end and 30M units passed in 2010.  60% of U-verse subs are coming from cable.  1/3 were not previous ATT customers. More than 90% are attaching internet service to the video product.

All markets have 40+ HD channels with more on the way by year end.  2HD being rolled out now.  4HD will be able to fit int he current 25meg profile, however I cant imagine this leaving much room for internet.

25% use remote dvr programming.  50% have used u-bar.  50% of those with flickr accounts have used the u-verse flickr service.  WHDVR still scheduled for 2H08.  There is an interactive weather service planned, maybe it will be good enough to replace on the 8s. There will be a channel mosaic feature to group channels by genre.   There will be an Olympics app in Q3 that will make it easy to get medal count and find Olympics programming.  I have little doubt this app will be a big hit.

ATT gave 50 satisified cable customer a U-verse taste test.  This group favored U-verse 4 to 1 on various metrics.

ATT now has 17,000 wifi hotspots.

Yay, interactive weather is coming!  Like the idea for the Guide, and WHDVR is really on its way.  And I've already been enjoying the Hotspots!

Is this some of the info that they glean from the e-surveys?

I have yet to hear anything about HD video on demand. Where is it? I also haven't heard anything about a better, higher quality HD picture. I would rather have fewer simultaneous HD channels at a higher quality than more simultaneous HD channels that only has a slightly better picture than an up-converted DVD. The current HD channels are over compressed.

Sounds like switchover from cable is stronger than anyone thought.

I like the part about staying ahead in HD choices.  More channels please! Wink
