I have seen one VRAD-style ("mini"-model) cabinet next to a Cross-Box that is that Light Green color that many of the X-Boxes and Cans are. However, it is the ONLY one I have seen that is green as opposed to the usual Tan.
Anyone else seen green VRADs? Would this box be another piece of equipment besides a VRAD? Based on its location and the fact it is the same exact enclosure as the mini VRAD, I would guess it is a VRAD, but like I said, it is the only green one I have seen.
I will try to take a picture of it tomorrow and post if i remember.

Most of our non-VRAD or xbox equipment here is light green...though I've spotted a few older ones that dark green or white with the blue SBC logo/bell on them. There is an interesting piece of light green equipment that has a power meter attached, but it doesn't look anything like a VRAD. I keep meaning to snap a pic...

Here are a couple pics of the Green VRAD, or at least a Green VRAD Cabinet. I assume it is a VRAD, as it is right next to a X-Box and its the same enclosure as the regular VRAD Mini... But as you can see, it is green, not tan.

Cool! And that's the color they use on most other equipment here, including peds in people's yards. That woodgrain panel on the x-box is wild!

Many of the X-Boxes in Suburban Chicago have the Wood Grain... The rest of the world does not have the wood grained green cross boxes?
And like I said, this is the ONLY green VRAD I have seen so far... which makes me wonder whether it is or not... But it sure looks like one...

Never seen woodgrain here...but I've seen all kinds of different door types and colors!
That is definitely a mini...maybe they're testing that color to blend in more since many complain about the size of the boxes?

Not saying every cross box I've been to up here has the wood grain, some are just plain green, and then there are the tan cross boxes as well. But I would say that a good many, if not most, are the green w/ woodgrain. Woodgrain is hot hot hot in style.
All VRADs though are tan, except this Mini.
Maybe I made this up, but wasn't there some rumor or conjecture that the tan paint color has some special property that makes the box cool better in the summer or something cracked out like that? And if I do remember hearing that, does a green one showing up kinda blow that theory out of the water?

I have no idea about the theory behind the color, just they might be testing it out to see if it gets fewer complaints or something. We're in heat-central here, but equipment is a mix of that green and the usual tan, but I've never seen anything but tan VRADs...so far.

If the VRAD is going next to a green X-Box, I would think it would make sense to make the VRAD green too. So maybe they are testing it to see if it is more "acceptable" and to make sure that the green paint color does not cause any bigger issues, like oh, maybe exploding batteries or anything else silly. Of course, go ahead and stick with tan VRADs when the X-Box is tan

I've seen a few here with green cross-connects, but the tan VRAD. Maybe they got a deal on light green/seafoam paint? Here's an example, though not a mini.

Almost all the X-Box/VRAD combinations up here (Chi-burbs) have the light green/seafoam X-Boxes with tan VRADs. And if the X-Box is tan, so is the VRAD. The VRADs are (almost) all tan, regardless of the X-Box color.
The pictured one is the exception, not the rule. I snapped the pic because I was shocked to see a VRAD that was green and not tan.
The IL Video Franchise law that gives AT&T video power statewide gives local gov't Right of Way control, so maybe AT&T had to "go green" with this VRAD to meet a local permit? But other VRADs in this particular suburb are still tan, even when they are next to a green X-Box.

I don't think I have even seen that model of VRAD yet up in Chi-land. That thing is huge. Ours are either tall like that one, but narrower and skinnier (width and depth), or they are the mini model like the picture I posted (but every other VRAD, be it the taller model or the Mini, are all tan)

Maybe they are trying to confuse local govt.? On that size, we have traffic light controllers at nearly every intersection that are silver and IMO, bigger than the VRADs. I don't think I've read about any complaints down here...other than the exploding battery incidents.

Three Shorter Green VRADs in Milwaukee:
North Ave. & Humboldt Ave. Kenwood & Oakland 22xx N Buffum
Also there are plenty of larger crossboxes around here with woodgrained panels.

Maybe woodgrained X-Boxes was an old Ameritech thing. Any Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan people want to chime in if your X-Boxes are woodgrained? WI and IL have them (2 out of 5 of the old Ameritech -- Ameritech seems like such a long time ago...)
And I feel better about Green VRADs, if they are also up in CheeseHeadLand...
