By the end of QTR1 2008 u-verse had added 148k new subs, bringing the total to 379k. U-verse has now passed 9 million units.  If they are going to make it to the planned 18 million units by year end they need to pass about 3.3 every qtr for the rest of the year.

U-verse is still on target to pass 1 million subs by year end.  This should not be a problem if they keep their current pace.  They are achieving greater than 10% penetration is markets open less than 12 months.

As the U-verse network is expanded U-verse services will be made available to business users. The customer base is being transitioned to the U-verse network.

2nd HD stream will be made available in qtr2.  Hopefully we will see it soon.  No comment on WHDVR availability.

This last bit is not related to U-verse, but I found it interesting.

The unlimited wireless calling plan has increased the  greater than $99/month plan share adoption to 4.0% from 1.5%.

Why wait every 8 minutes to see the stupid Local On The 8's. When you can just go to your computer or download an application and see the weather in less than 8 minutes.

Given the number of release dates slips, I think we can call this a definite maybe.

I'd say that's a bad sign.

I'd say that's a bad sign.

I think the bad sign was that they only gave U-verse one or two sentences in the whole call!

U-verse typically does not get a lot time, but neither does any one section of their business.  They have a lot to cover in a very short time.

The podcast is here if you prefer to listen.  Reading the transcripts is much faster however.

AT&T 1Q 08 Investor briefing 1Q 08 web page with links to PDFs of the information, slides, etc. One slide shows the cities where U-verse is available. (Well, as we've all learned from the FCC, Comcast, ATT over the years - - available only means to at least one subscriber in city...)

Mighty boring from a U-verse point of view... Yawn...
